For us this sums up our own feelings so well that we don't feel the need to add any further comments of our own except to say a big personal thank you all the bands, all the British & Greek sound & lighting crews, all the staff that worked miracles for us in Lindos, our Greek partners &, of course, the biggest thank you to all you RhodesRockers who supported us so well. For us it almost feels like a club in which we have made so many new friends. Although we can't possibly remember all the names & faces we thank you all personally & hope very much to see you all again next year in Lindos.

The ZZTops..what can I say, met them first at a guitar show six months ago and hit it off with them straight away. These guys have the attitude, ability and above all, the sense of fun that makes them a pleasure to watch and hang with. Miss em at your peril when they come to your neck of the woods.

Last of all...Think Floyd!! The last gig on the Tuesday night before we all came home was just "magical" The guys excelled themselves, and I doubt the "real" thing could have done much better. The atmosphere was great and it was a fitting end to RhodesRock09, as without Think Floyd laying the foundations with the FloydFests they have played in previous years, RhodesRock in its present form wouldn't exist.

So thanks guys.

I must thank you for the most amazing holiday which you provided us!! We had the most fantastic time. The music events were awesome and we are already excited about returning next year. Many thanks and congratulations for organising this brilliant event. We met great people and enjoyed all the great Tribute Bands. Absolutely fantastic!!

We felt that the venue for the beach party was lovely and the proprieter was a really nice guy, great day altogether, the food was fantastic! We also enjoyed the welcome party, a great opportunity to get into the swing of things. The hotel we chose was really nice.

Absolutely cant wait to return to the event next year and I'm sure many of our friends will be itching to go after seeing our holiday snaps! Lindos is an amazing place. I have to say it has changed since I was there 30yrs ago!

Many thanks again, please let us know as soon as we can book with you again as we don't want to miss out. We are definately going for 2 weeks next year.

Just a note to say a big thank you from everyone associated with Free Spirit for Rhodes Rock 09. We had a fantastic time with you all in Lindos and made lots of new friends and acquaintances whilst there.
 
Special mention must go to Eddie & Elaine for all your hard work not only organizing the event but sorting out all the little things that really matter, making the whole experience not only memorable but a privilege to be a part of.
 
We would also like to thank the crew involved with the stage, sound and lights. What a great set of lads to work with, nothing too much trouble and what a sound on stage. True professionals.
 
Lastly, we would like to hope everyone who was there enjoyed it as much as we did taking part. We have not heard anything but positive comments from anyone during or since at gigs etc. A truly remarkable thing regarding how difficult it must be to organize and execute.

Hi everyone,

WOW where do I start?? It was our first time to Rhodes Rock but what an amazing event. The bands were excellent, the venue was stunning and the organisation was outstanding (apart from the boat being late for the beach party, but hey, it was sunny!).
Special mention must go to Eddie and Elaine but also anyone that had a hand in setting it all up...........GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!!

As I said, this was our first time but everybody was so friendly and the guys in the bands were always ready for a chat and a laugh when "off duty".

We're hoping to make Wulfrun in February but definitely making it a fortnight for Rhodes Rock 2010!!!!!

We can't thank you and everyone else involved enough for the fantastic time we had at Rhodes Rock 2009. Lindos is in itself a magical place to visit but coupled with our favourite music performed by first class cover bands made it an amazing experience. Thanks particularly to John Campbell who gave a maginificant performance while suffering with a bad back - you were a real star John! The atmosphere of the village really was rocking for the whole week and we had a fantastic time both at the gigs and in the infamous Socrates Bar . Where else can you air guitar the night away with crowds of like minded party goers in a historic Captain's House built in 1605?

Thanks again guys - we're looking forward to the reunion in Feb!

Well done on organising yet another fantastic holiday. We didn't think it was possible but RhodesRock09 even surpassed RhodesRock08. Glad to hear that you are preparing for RhodesRock10 and a 2 week holiday sounds great to us. With the Gatwick flight being put back 8 hours and arriving at midnight those six and a half days just flew by. An extra week with another show should be quite popular.

Looking forward to seeing all the bands perform in the UK. We see Are You Experienced so often that John, Kevin and Mark accuse us of being groupies. They always put on a good performance just like all the other bands. Seeing Letz Zep once again in September for our regular fix of Zeppelin. Also seeing Limehouse Lizzy in September who are on with Livewire a fantastic AC/DC band. Hope to see The ZZ Tops, Free Spirit and A Foreigners Journey when they next play in our area. Not forgetting Think Floyd who started it all off with their Floyd Fests in Lindos, normally see them at least twice a year somewhere in the UK. You can't beat a good night of live rock music played by expert musicians. 

We've already booked our tickets for the reunion gig at the Wulfrun Hall in February and are looking forward to seeing again the many friends we made in Rhodes.

Hi Eddie & Elaine, Thanks for the update, we can't wait till next year and just about recovered from 09. We loved every minute of RR 09 and would consider 2 weeks next year all depending on dates etc so we look forward to hearing the plans. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Lindos Horizon as it was fabulous so we would love to stay there again. We all thought everything was well planned and loved all the venues and the only negative thing we can think of is the food at the St Pauls gigs was a bit ropey e.g. the bread for the rolls was very stale and meat wasn't cooked or hot, but other than that everywhere else the food was excellent! I'm attaching some pics and i have named them so i hope when you receive them you can work out who's who. So thanks again for a fantastic time and we will see you at the Wulfrun reunion in Feb. Hi Eddie and Elaine,

We wouldn't say it's a distant memory. We still find ourselves waking up almost every morning with a Rhodes Rock tune. It's been absolutely fantastic again this year and we enjoyed all the bands and great company. We turned nocturnal for a week and probably saw more sunrises than sunsets. 

The shows were awesome and a big thanks again to all the bands and the crews (especially 407 Giraffes, or was it 56 or 761 Giraffes??). Also a big thanks to the DJ whose name unfortunately escapes us but we really enjoyed his nifty work. 

The BBQ venue was great and what a beautiful afternoon that was. It was fantastic to see the bands having such a great time, too. 

Thanks again for your email and we're so glad to see that RR2010 is going ahead. We'll be in Wolverhampton, definitely. And finally, please find some pics attached. Glyn and Simone at BBQ, Simone with Jonessi from the ZeeZees and Simone with all the ZeeZees, becoming the fourth band member.

We had a great time but realise this is to do with the very hard work you both do along with all in Rhodes to put this together. We cannot thank you enough and the true extend of your blood, sweat and tears gone into this event will never be known.

Cant thank you both enough for a great holiday. Only problem we found was the temp a little too high! Even flights and everything out of your control was perfect. 
We would definitely be interested in 2 weeks and also would like to stay at the same Chrysa apartments again.

PS. Not sure if you are looking for any new bands for next year but recently saw Pure Purple and they were fantastic and would fit in nicely with the line up. Check them out.

As a solo female very much into classic rock, I found this to be the ideal holiday. I met some lovely people, some also solo as well as couples and was rarely without company, especially during the evening. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, including all the bands. So anyone who, if like me, are solo, into classic rock and want a great holiday, but have some reservations of travelling alone,as I did initially, this is the holiday to book.

All the bands put on awesome performances despite the heat and the venues were excellent and well planned. My favourite evenings were the welcome party and Think Floyd at the amphitheatre area which was really special. Socrates put on some lovely food for the welcome party BBQ and it was a great personal setting for the bands to play 

Great music, great weather, great people - Can't wait for next year. See you there. Eve (Coventry).

Well I can't believe how - but you managed to top RhodesRock08. What a totally fab event RhodesRock09 was: great people (bands and RhodesRockers), great place, great gigs, great extra events...
TOTALLY great.

As you know I love Think Floyd and it was great to see Limehouse Lizzy, Letz Zep and Are you Experienced again. Total respect to John for playing despite his health problems! Really impressed by the new bands too - especially A Foreigners Journey. Had a quick chat to Paul at the BBQ and couldn't believe my ears when he said that they had only been together for 5 months!

So - when is RhodesRock10? 'Cos I'll be there...

Hi Eddie/Elaine The rockfest just keeps getting better and better and better, many thanks to both of you. 

It was a master stroke to give Think Floyd their own gig, and an excellent setting too which lent itself perfectly to Floyd music. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole week and will definitely be up for next year.

The other bands were really good, together with the welcome party and I really enjoyed the beach BBQ and boat trip, please make sure you keep that in for next year. Once again many thanks for your continued hard work and effort. The RhodesRock event has now become a 'pilgrimage' and will be the first thing to go on my 2010 calendar.

Accommodation etc couldn't be better. Think we will be joining you again next year with a few more people. Limehouse Lizzy were the reason we came and we weren't disappointed. Disappointed the only time we actually saw you was on the stage at Think Floyd (we arrived early at the welcome party and didn't know you were on the door later) would have liked to have thanked you personally. But will see you in Feb at the RhodesRock Reunion so will do so then. 

Hope you have a well deserved rest now or will you be starting on next year already?

would just like to say a big thankyou for a brill week of rock :)

Would also like to thank Georgie for letting me get close to front at welcome party- Yes I was the one freaking out with Letz Zepp- ( I apologise for snapping part of the bush- will Socrates ever forgive me !!!) >

This is the 2nd time we've been, have been going to Rhodes for approx 8yrs but accidently found you last year and vowed to do the tour- well we did and OMG what a week!

Everything about the hol was brill- apart from food at main concerts- bit cold/ stale but hey ho- thats all.
Accomodation at Lindos Gardens was gr8- couldn't fault it. 
We've already paid for tickets for Wulfrin get together- and as soon as details for 2010 we'll be booking that aswell- 2wks sounds VERY tempting !!

We made some brill mates, aswell as meeting up with old ones. LOVE IT LOVE IT- can't wait for next year-

Friday and Saturday took us across to the bay to a concert sight with an amazing setting.. Three bands per night did their thing with a backdrop to die for and all helped along with an enthusiastic crowd of all ages.. Limehouse Lizzy being my favourite excelled as did all the bands, excellent musicmanship, take a bow all of you.. Sunday was rest day followed by Mondays secret beach party.. Again another great setting and once again more sets from the bands to keep the music fix going.. I must add that our DJ kept the air filled with classics and rareraties throughout, weldone to you too.. 

To cap it all Think Floyd played a poignant set for the passing of Richard Wright, played in earshot of all of Lindos, a perfect ending to a great week.. The sight of all the bands on the stage pre concert was a great sight to see, all of you well done.. And to all the band members who could understand my scouse drunken thank yous, i appreciated your time.. But all of this would not have been possible was it not for Eddie and Elaines input, a big thank you from me and as i told you, it was my greatest birthday treat ever.. 

Socrates and the people of Lindos, thank you for a very warm welcome and allowing us to pump up the volume to the music we love.. To those that read this as reference to go to 2010, dont think twice you wont regret it.. Keep it live for the spirit of the fallen idols..

Congratulations boys on a fantastic gig in Rhodes, we had a great time and you did Yorkshire proud. Just got back from Rhodesrock09- abs brill- really nice guy- even though he injured his back ( we were told he was doing acrobatics with his other half :) )- he still managed to do the gig- marvellous .
